Spectra Logic can be found at the leading edge of Disk and Tape Automation, with innovative technology and unique differentiating features. The company are one of few in the tape automation industry who have built a business through OEM relationships, and as a result the Spectra Logic products are constantly evolving to adopt new interfaces, tape formats and storage topologies.
The flagship product of the Spectra Logic family is that of the T950 – an Enterprise class tape Library delivering excellent storage density (up to 950 cartridges and 24 tape drives in a 42U rack architecture). Specific features that differentiate the T950 from its competitors include library partitioning (through the SLS – Shared Library Services utility), on-board encryption (using Bluescale technology) and a “CoD” or Capacity on Demand.
Within the T-Series Automation family from Spectra Logic, supporting LTO technology, can be found the T24, T50e and T120 – with the digits in each product name denoting the upper limit of cartridges that are supported within the architecture. This unique technology is also supported by the aforementioned T950 Library, allowing the T950 to offer an integral disk and tape solution.
