Data Theft is a growing concern, More than 10,000 people are victimised by this crime each year, and the number is increasing. Criminals are finding ever more sophisticated ways of retrieving sensitive data, mainly through tampering with disposed PCs. Even deleting your data regularly or reformatting your hard disk drive to delete all your old files is not sufficient. Your information is still retrievable and provides an easy way for criminals to steal your identity.

Using NCE’s Data Destruction Service, will ensure your valuable data never falls in the wrong hands.

Our Procedure

To control the Data Destruction process, NCE use a software product called Disk-Purge. Disk-Purge Declassification software is DES/DOD endorsed for completely and thoroughly sanitising any hard drive device to the following standards: DOD 5200.28, NCSC-TG-025, AFSSI 5020, OPNAV 5510 and AR-380-19. Degaussing (i.e., demagnetizing) is a procedure that reduces the magnetic flux of a medium to virtual zero by applying a reverse magnetizing field. Properly applied, degaussing renders any previously stored data on magnetic media unreadable.

Pricing Model

NCE have created the following pricing model in a modular format, so the client can tailor make the solution that best fits their requirements.

1. Pickup & Delivery

Pickup and Delivery are charged per mile round-trip (price agreed prior to travel using MS AutoRoute), up to 100 pieces. Over 100 pieces will be on a quotation basis.

The pickup and delivery service will be carried only by NCE employees, using an NCE vehicle. This will ensure maximum control of security. NCE employees will show a Photo ID to prove their identity and will sign for collection with a document showing serial numbers. The serial number can either be produced by the client or can be generated during the pickup.

2. Install / De-Install

Our Install / De-Install service is charged per event, up to 100 pieces. Over 100 pieces will be on a quotation basis.

Should the drives be installed in a RAID system and the client is not able to remove the drives from the RAID system and/or drive caddy’s, NCE would be happy to provide this technical service from one of our nationwide Storage centric field engineers. The end-user is responsible for powering down the system.

3. Data Removal

This service includes the following features:

• Data wipe to min. NSA/DOD 5220,22M specifications.
  
• Full traceability from pickup to drop-off, via online web portal.
  
• Full history (traced by Serial No.), viewable via online web portal.
  
• Certificate of Data Destruction, with returned units.
  
• Faulty Hard Drives will have data removed to DOD spec via certified degausser.
  
• Should drives not be required to be returned then the drive will either be re-used or re-cycled through green methods

Secure Data Destruction is not something that can be accomplished by running a simple software application or formatting, smashing or opening a hard disk drive. Even drilling holes in a hard drive does not render it un-readable.
